This course teaches students the basics of HTML and CSS required to build a simple website. Students will learn the skills required to create a functioning website from scratch such as building tables, creating lists, adding audio, writing ‘tags’, using fonts.They will also how to use different color schemes and graphical effects. This course will help students think more critically about the digital content they consume every day while also improving their logical thinking skills. By the end of the course, students are expected to be able to build their own simple websites that displays information. This course can be expanded to include additional coursework and teacher training which will allow students to design and develop a more complex website for themselves or their school. This course will teach the basics of the internet including a look into the social implications of the use of the internet.
Every lesson has the following: ● Slides ○ They will contain the relevant information. Within the lessons, the particular subject matter is taught. This will include reading some material, watching videos, and completing the labs. ● Labs and solutions. ○ These are the core labs that must be completed for each lesson. ○ Solution sets will be both written and video solutions to each one. ● Homework and solution ○ These are for students to take home and practice. Both written and video solutions are provided. ● Unit Quiz ○ These are the assumptive assessment for each unit to see how much the student has learned.
